Very impressive and successful capturing of the arcade's 3/4 perspective with 3D isometric gameplay, this really helped sell the Colecovision as there was no such port of Zaxxon that was nearly this good. Fly your spaceship into enemy fortresses and blast rockets, missiles, cannons, enemy ships, giant robots and fuel tanks (the latter to keep your fuel supply from dwindling, which kills you if empty). Your ship is able to fire many lasers at once, so spare no ammunition! Especially since this can show you how to avoid collisions with fortress walls. The enemy robot is made of smaller enemy ships and it has a weak spot flashing on its body-- shoot it repeatedly and as quick as you can-- if it fires a missile then you'll not be able to destroy it for 5,000 points. Look at your altimeter on the left to see if you're at the right plane to take out enemy ships in the area between fortresses. The higher skill levels have tougher enemies, perhaps smaller areas to fly through, faster gameplay, and most critical of all-- your fuel supply can drain MUCH faster! Terrific port of the Sega arcade classic. See you soon with the second half of my Colecovision series!
