The game starts off where Zombotron 2 last left off. Our hero is stuck with a broken machine which is why he has to find the tools to repair the time machine as well as go back to where he resides. He treks the subterranean areas to find the things that he needs. He also has to fight off the hordes of zombies and other abominations that stand against his way.

Aesthetics:

The art style of the game uses cartoon presentations which are all hand drawn mixed with some computer generated images. The CGI is minute in a sense but it does the work as it also blends well with the hand drawn animations. The setting itself has a nice color tone being set in a dystopian area but it’s not entirely dark as well as not being too bright and colorful. The game’s music also sets a good tone for the game. The music has an eerie feel to it making it sound suspenseful but has a mix of action elements. The overall aesthetics of Zombotron 2: Time Machine are all but good.

Gameplay:

Zombotron 2: Time Machine’s gameplay is similar to the first game. In a sense it is somewhat a direct sequel to the game before it. The first stage of Time Machine is the last level of the previous game that had the cliffhanger. Players control our unnamed gunner with the right buttons to let him move. Jumping is also a suitable move that allows you to evade incoming fire and enemy attacks but of course you can’t jump on enemies to kill them. There are also a bunch of enemies to watch out for. The common enemies are the robotic zombies. There are also other enemies to watch out for. Different enemies have different specialties when it comes to what they can do. There are those that average, fast, defensive and some that can throw projectiles. Just remember that some enemies take more hits to take down than others. Our unnamed hero can also swap weapons from his rifle to a melee one when needed or when his ammo has all been consumed. There are also pieces of money that the players can get. The money can be used when the players would want to upgrade their rifle. They can upgrade their rifle in terms of the power, speed and others. Players have to go to respective spots that allow them to upgrade their rifle. The players will also have a life bar that will allow them to take a number of hits. If the player does die then he will just respawn in the nearest area. He will have unlimited lives so that’s a good thing. There are also parts that involve a bit of problem solving much like a puzzle. There are also things that can instantly kill our hero so watch out. The last level is the final boss and once its defeated, our hero goes back to his home presumably.
