In this Skul the Hero Slayer video, I'll be using Ghoul with a Relic focused strategy! Ghoul is easily one of the fan favorites in the game, and it's easy to see why. He has immense natural damage amplification potential with his meat chunks mechanic, which whenever he hits and enemy has a chance to drop a chunk of flesh that when eaten makes Ghoul grow in size and power, and this makes him naturally deal more damage. Whenever he takes damage while having some chunks in him, he can choose to swallow the chunks to heal off some of the damage within a short time period. This under normal circumstances is quite good, but when combined with the Piety Dark Ability, it's easy for Ghoul to go positive with his healing. Tack on Revenge 2, and Ghoul can quickly become nearly unkillable, and you can run away with the run from there. That said, we aren't simply playing any old immortal Ghoul here, we're once again bringing out old St. Ghoul with a jolly Relic 4 run. Relic 4 is one of the most unique offensive inscriptions in the entire game. It scales not through the usual damage% equals more damage methods, but rather it calculates your Max HP vs. the enemy's current HP, and deals damage based on that in the form of true (neutral) damage, and activates when you've just healed. This means your damage% is far, far less important on a Relic run; it's all about scaling up your Max HP to ridiculous numbers. One such item that is by quite a lot the strongest Relic item in the game is Heart of the Ascetic, a Relic/Revenge item, the two inscriptions Relic wants the most. This item gives you an extra 150 Max HP that is always emptying, which sounds weird in theory, but you go neutral with your Max HP from it and it allows you to always have the opportunity to heal to activate the Relic effect, and since it's based on Max HP all that matters for your damage is what that number says. This is strong under normal circumstances, and heavily enhances any Relic run...but what if I had two Hearts? That's how this run initially gets it's start, and it just gets wackier and wackier from there, ending up with a whopping 1047 Max HP, the chonkiest Ghoul to ever walk the Earth! So, that's today's goal, Relic Ghoul, hopefully showcasing a lesser traveled path to victory to the uninitiated! Joined by Officer (though really it's a solo run lol), can Ghoul simply eat his troubles away to become the biggest Ghoul ever?
