I did this one previously about three years ago, but those vids were pretty shit and I did them because I didn't have the patience to wait for a better computer at the time. Which, considering it's been three years since the last vids, is pretty understandable I'd say. The olds ones will be changed to say "proof of hacking and playing as", as with any videos I've redone before.
This was one of my "big" vids, as I saw it; one of the most noteworthy and interesting ones to do, particularly as at the time the only other person to do a vid on Abyss was Krizalid, and back then she was only doing moveset demonstrations as opposed to full playthroughs. She also eventually did full playthrough vids for these characters so, while this video is a playthrough, the other two are just simple gameplays, as the noteworthiness of Abyss being hackable and playable has more or less run its course by this point. It's a problem with doing this series for so long, and so thoroughly too; all the interesting, groundbreaking stuff just ends up becoming another norm after a while, in the same way that explorers fill in the map of the world it just becomes "another place" after a while.
That said, I appreciate the attention those vids got, with them even being shared on other websites like the Shoryuken forums, and two of them being over 10,000 each means I'm still pretty happy with them. I'll go into this more in the epilogue videos, but early 2016 was before I really had any proper fans. Compared to now where there's a reliable number of people who enjoy my stuff and comment on it, back then I was lucky to ever get a comment, and in essence I was still "speaking into the void" as I prefer to put it; speaking to no one in particular as opposed to a more established audience.
So, anyway, this is just third form Abyss. Again. But a lot more watchable this time. Playing as him is still a blast, and definitely a bit of a spectacle, but not quite the event it used to be.
Up next, who else could it be but Abyss' second form.
