A playthrough of the hidden character Gun Jack in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken 3.

Here we finally see the Jack character for this game, Gun Jack. It is a bit bizarre to have to unlock a regular Jack character, something which we'll see again in Tekken Tag. I can see why they made Gun Jack here a regular playable character in the GBA port of this game, Tekken Advance.

Compared to P. Jack from the previous game, there isn't a whole lot of difference from before. Gun Jack, as the Jacks usually are, an extremely competent and good character to use. His attacks are usually on the slower side but are incredibly hard-hitting, and his large side means that his attacks usually have quite a bit of reach to them.

In terms of dramatic differences from previous Jacks, I didn't notice many. The only ones which really stand out are his jetpack move (3+4), where he flies up into the air to stomp the enemy, an extremely powerful though risky attack which can be delayed by pressing 3+4 again, as well as his Cossack Dance move (db+3, 4, 3, 4, etc) where he, well, performs the stereotypical Russian Cossack dance. Rather hilariously, this move deals some quite substantial damage if not blocked consistently, and used to be one of my favourites to use of his.

All in all, he's a very good character, but pretty much serves just to be another standard, familiar character in the game. He also has a fantastic exclusive hidden costume in the PS1 port of the game, which we'll see when we get to that.
