Elengard Ascension is an Indie, Real time with pause RPG, think Neverwinter Nights 2 or the first Dragon Age game (the good one).

Robust Character Creation:
In Elengard Ascension, right at the start, you create your own character, much like in the great CRPGs of old!
You can visually customize your character a bit, with more options planned, along with selecting their personality and if they worship a god, which will have a big impact on their character later, especially if they go for a priest!
You then select three abilities to pick at the start, along with 30 Attribute points to spend; nice!
You then pick your combat abilities, which cost experience; you start with 800, enough for maybe a few abilities.
Finally, you pick your starting gear; good to see it.

Old School D&D like Casting:
Elengard Ascension doesn’t use Vancian magic, but it does abide by the old school AD&D rule that if you’re hit, you might lose the spell.
In Elengard Ascension, that means all the mana and time spend channeling you used to build up the energy to cast was lost, making spell casting in combat much more tactical and risky; keep the mages back, and protected!

Controller Support is planned, but not currently present in this early demo.

Still, Elengard Ascension is an Indie, Real time with pause RPG that I had a lot of fun playing, and is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch.
