Aconcagua (PSX) Playthrough / Survival point & click thriller with a political undertone. Unusual.
Aconcagua (2000)by WACWAC! is an unusual mix of genres realized in a very interesting location. It is basically Survival thriller with political background in point & click convention. I'll be honest as an enthusiast of the point & click genre I thought I had seen it all but I was wrong. And I am very positively surprised. The title Aconcagua is a mountain peak in the fictional country of Meruza , which actually exists with the same name in one of the Argentine provinces. The state of Meruza has been split in half by political turmoil. The leader of the independence political movement, takes a plane on an motivational tour of this divided state in order to reconcile it. During the flight there is a terrorist attack on board , and the plane crashes high in the mountains on the aforementioned slope of the Aconcagua peak. It turns out that only five people survived the crash and our task is to leave this inhospitable place in one piece. Where on the one hand our threat is both terrorists and mother nature. I must admit that this is a very cool background for the game and really adds to its atmosphere. We will operate each of the five characters, where each of them has its own abilities, so the whole team complements each other well. The puzzles are not hard and rather rational, there is nothing cryptic here like in some games of the genre. Also, no one should find the game rather difficult to play and gameplay should be rather smooth from start to finish. Yes you need to remember to save, because there are many situations in the game in which we can die. But this is probably the first point and click game where characters have their own life bars. Before we die we are given a few approaches (at least in most cases). A very cool game with an interesting environment and an interesting storyline, definitely something else worth recommending. Originally the game is not in English it is an unofficial English translation.
