SplatterHouse (Arcade) Playthrough/He will repaints this house with paint squeezed from his enemies!
SplatterHouse (1988) by Namco, is undoubtedly an adventure based on horror cinema of the 1980s, with many motifs from such legendary horror brands as "Friday the 13th" and "Evil Dead" are evident here. Undoubtedly, the biggest inspiration was the main character himself, who wears a hockey mask on his face. Yes the one and only Jason Voorheese the immortal killer from Crystal Lake. But we will not write about it here because every horror fan should seamlessly see it for himself. The game is a simple side scroller, and the only thing in total that makes it stand out from the competition is the fact that it is modeled on classic horror movies. It is brutal and disgusting at the same time, in the positive sense of these words, of course. Because when choosing a game with a horror background, we are unlikely to expect beautiful flowers and rainbows in it. And I must admit that these impressions in general it delivers exemplarily without question. Also lot of ideas were really poured into the mansion created here. And it came out quite well overall. It is both sinister and surreal atmosphere, filled with twisted monsters wanting to destroy us on every step we take. Plot-wise, it's not very sophisticated. During a storm, the protagonist and his partner hide in the title house. The woman is kidnapped and the protagonist is knocked out. At that very moment the iconic mask appears, which possesses our hero and gives him the strength to take revenge. Well, and that would be enough of the plot :P As for the gameplay itself, it's one of the most infuriating games I've played. You can see the typical focus on extracting money from the player. It starts off innocently and fairly accessible at first, only to dump all the filth that hell can offer on you after a while. It also doesn't help that our character's hit boxes are really huge for what happens sometimes on the screen, and all in all, you often get the impression that the situation we are put in is not fair. Actually, this is the norm on Arcade, but here after losing all lives we start the level from the beginning. By paying you repeat everything from the beginning.... yes you heard right. You don't start where you died, but only from the beginning of a certain level. They seem to be short but the precision that is required in them brings many deaths. And I will honestly admit that if I had to go through this game on the original machine for real money, I would probably smash it on the spot or fly out of the arcade saloon with a scream ..... WHYYYYYY!!!!!!!! NAMCO YOU B******S !!! }:-\ . Overall the game is very atmospheric and not many like it have been made so this is definitely a treat. I recommend it but , arm yourselves with nerves of steel because during its passage more than once you will curse and maybe even something more ......... hoohoooohoooooohoooooooohooooooooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
