Add and Use Hydra Bot in Discord Server - Music Bot Setup
169Hydra music bot is one of the best bots to add to your server. Hydra bot allows server members to play and listen to music in the Discord voice channels. The music played through Hydra can be controlled using the message reactions in the song requests channel. The reactions make it easy to play, skip and pause music without needing to use chat commands.
A specific song requests channel can be set up for Hydra bot. Once created the song requests channel will be the only channel that members can use to request songs. Having a specified requests channel will help prevent spam in other channels in your server.
Once you add Hydra bot to your Discord server you will be able to use the Hydra bot dashboard. Through the dashboard you can change some settings to customize how Hydra bot works. A good option is to limit the length of a song that can be requested, you can also limit how many songs a member can request. To keep your Discord server clear you will want to enable the option to delete song announcements.
You can also restrict Hydra bot to only use specific voice channels. This will prevent music being played at unwanted times.
Hydra bot allows you to create and select DJ roles. Members with the DJ role have more control over the music being played. A DJ can play, pause, stop, loop, shuffle and skip songs as they like. A user should only be given the DJ role if you have a fair amount of trust for them.
You can set a DJ role through Discord commands, or by using the Hydra music bot dashboard. Similarly the same steps can be used to remove the DJ role.
