How to Zoom In and Out of a Video in Premiere Pro CC
With Premiere Pro you can zoom in and out of a video. When zooming in Premiere you can also use the anchor point to select the focus point of the zoom. This is useful if you want to zoom in on an object, or zoom out from a specific spot. Zooming from a specified location can also be done with the position, however it is less accurate and more troublesome when working with keyframes.
To zoom in with Premiere Pro you will need to use the scale settings. Increasing the scale value will zoom in to the video, and decreasing the value will zoom out. Using the scale settings also allows you to create keyframes to animate the zoom effect.
Animating the zoom effect will require you to create keyframes. The first keyframe will be the starting point of the zoom, and the second will be the final position of the zoom. This means to zoom in you will need the second scale keyframe value to be larger than the first. For zooming out your second keyframe value will need to be lower.
Zooming out of a video will result in the video having a border around it. To prevent this from happening you can start the zoom out effect by increasing the scale above 100, this will allow you to scale down to 100 and keep the entire video canvas filled in the entire time.
