How to Turn Off Home Screen in Photoshop CC (Disable Photoshop Home Page)
1Whenever you first open Photoshop for the first time you will be met with a home screen. The Photoshop home screen allows you to quickly select recently viewed documents, or create a new file. While this home page is inviting and easy to use, it is also one extra step preventing you from using Photoshop as intended. Users that have been using Photoshop for years may not like this home screen as they have become used to the traditional menu.
The Photoshop home screen can be turned off through the general preferences. Once disabled a new document will need to be created, and Photoshop will need to be restarted. Once restarted the home screen will no longer appear, and you will be met with the traditional standard Photoshop interface.
Disabling the Photoshop home screen will not negatively impact the program, or make any unnecessary changes to how Photoshop functions. The home screen can always be enabled again through the same preferences menu, and a quick restart of the software. Resetting the Photoshop preferences will also enable the home screen again.
