African Weapons in Zelda, Soul Calibur, Fire Emblem, Assassin's Creed and other Video Games
We are looking at the real life weapons that inspired videogame weapons. We're featuring Ganondorf's sword, Siegfried's sword and many more.
The games series we talk about in today's video include Super Smash Bros Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda (in particular Zelda Breath of the Wild), Fire Emblem, Asura's Blade, Soul Calibur, The Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed (in particular Assassin's Creed Origins.)
Specifically this video discusses the African weapons that can be found in these games. The focus is primarily the Central African swords of the Congo. The two main blades featured are the Ikakalaka sword which are attributed to the Kundu, Konda, Lia, Mpama, and Kutu people, as well as, the Ilwoon sword of the Kuba people. Other blades are also discussed. We even briefly talk about a knife known as the Tumi from Peru. Our discussion details both weapon use and cultural significance.
The goal of this channel is to help educate people about Africa and other world cultures. I hope to give various world cultures especially African culture an appeal to a large audience that might not otherwise get exposed to the wonderful art that comes from Africa and other underrepresented cultures of the world.
