Although the title might suggest an official licence, AWS actually stands for Asciiware World Sports, which suggests Asciiware planned to make more sports games, but didn't get any further than this football game.

I've played worse football games on my quest, but also better. Sometimes when your team has the ball, you don't actually control the player with the ball and defending is really pot luck (although the opposition AI isn't brilliant either).

Also the game's box makes a point of all the 'pro moves' you can perform, but the only move you need to master is running the ball past the goalkeeper- you'll notice I mostly don't bother shooting in this video- the game's goalkeepers are way too good for that.

On the plus side, the music (an early work by future Hitman composer Jesper Kyd) is brilliant. Overall, AWS Pro Moves Soccer is as middle of the road as you can get really in terms of old football games.
