This video will show you an alternate method to prepare boxed macaroni and cheese. This can be especially useful if, when following the instructions on the box, you do not care for the taste of the cooked finished product (perhaps you purchased an off-brand or a non-standard brand of boxed macaroni and cheese). This method is simpler and easier: you do not need to strain the pasta mid-preparation and the only additional ingredient needed that is not provided in the box is water. Note how many grams of product is in your box of macaroni and cheese (generally 200g). Open the box and remove the sachet of dried cheese powder from the box. Pour the dried pasta into a saucepan. Rip open the envelope of dried cheese powder and pour this onto the dried pasta. Slowly pour and distribute 1 cup of water (250ml) for every 100g of dried pasta, so if your box is 200g worth of pasta, slowly pour and distribute 2 cups (500ml of water) amongst the dried pasta. Once the water has been distributed into the mixture, turn on your burner to maximum heat and stir the mixture to try to dissolve the dried powdered cheese amongst the mixture. Once all of the powdered cheese has been dissolved into the mixture, wait until the mixture comes to a boil. Once at a boil, lower the heat to medium low (3 on a scale of 1-9) and cover the saucepan to let it simmer for 15-17 minutes. After 15-17 minutes, turn off the burner, uncover the saucepan, and note that most of the water has been absorbed into the pasta. Stir up the mixture (fluff the mixture) to absorb or evaporate the remaining water to render a creamier texture for the finished product.
