Started building my internal CF interface - can't complete it at the moment as I'm still waiting for the CF sockets to arrive. Note to self: modify design to allow also an IDC header to give other options.

I'm a bit pessimistic that it'll work - the PPC is a real PITA to pull-apart and re-assemble ... maybe the machine won't work when I put it back together. But the interface should work ... the ISA interface is well defined, and the CF Lite design is known to work ... and they are known to should work together ... on the same board though? That I designed? Hmmm.

I have seen a picture of an internal 20MB (?) hard drive installed in the modem space "back in the day" so the idea has been around for a while. In that case they soldered the ISA interface wiring directly to the expansion port connector pins:
