Birria French Toast sandwiches are a game changer for Breakfast! #shorts
This was a ridiculous sandwich in all the best ways possible. My buddy Mike over at @ampedgolf gave me the idea months back and I finally got around to it! No regrets!!
Ingredients:
4 eggs - I use @happyeggcousa
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 - 1 tsp cinnamon
Salt
3 tbsp butter
Brioche buns
Shredded beef from my Birria Video
Shredded chihuahua or Oaxaca cheese
Candied bacon - can use regular!
1 pan fried egg with a runny yolk
Instructions:
Start by whisking 4 eggs in a large bowl. Once smooth, add the remaining custard ingredients and whisk once more.
Then you need to bring a pan up to temp and melt 3 tbsp of butter over medium heat. While that comes up to temperature, let’s dip both halves of our Brioche buns in the custard and then get them in the pan. These should cook for about 3 minutes per side.
To build the sandwich, just place down the bottom bun, add the shredded beef, add your cheese and melt that with a torch or under the broiler. Then place down candied bacon and top it off with an optional, but recommended egg!
This was a huge standout when it comes to breakfast recipes I’ve made! It’s amazing on its own or served up with Birria Consome for dipping! Enjoy!
