Cheesy Bacon Brussel Sprouts are a Game Changer!! 🔥🔥
Do you Love or Hate Brussel Sprouts?!
#I’ve always loved brussel sprouts, and this recipe is one of my favorite ways to make them now! Even if you don’t think you like brussel sprouts, you’ll love this!!
Ingredients:
• 1/2 lb diced bacon
• 1.5 lbs of Brussel Sprouts, halved
• 1/3 cup beef or chicken stock
• salt and pepper
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter
• 2 tbsp ap flour
• 1.5 to 2 cups heavy cream
• 1/4 to 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
• 8 oz grated mozzarella
Instructions:
1. Start by heating up a skillet over medium high heat, and add your diced bacon while the pan is still cool. I recommend a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet.
2. When the bacon is crispy and the fat has rendered, remove it to drain and leave 1-2 tbsp of bacon grease in the pan.
3. Add the brussel sprouts and let them cook for 2-3 minutes on medium high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and deglaze with beef stock.
4. Season the Brussels with salt and pepper and once they have developed some color and start to char, remove them from the pan.
5. Add the butter and flour and whisk continuously to create a roux. Make sure the pan isn’t too hot at this stage!!
6. Slowly start to add the heavy cream while whisking.. it’s extremely important not to add to much at once and to let it temper, you want to avoid the sauce from breaking.
7. When the sauce is smooth and starting to thicken, grate in some Parmesan and whisk that in until smooth as well.
8. Add the Brussels and bacon bacon in and stir to coat, then add the grated mozzarella and mix that in as well.
9. Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the top start to brown!
Enjoy!
