Black Dragon Kalameet S24 Pt2 Let's Play Dark Souls No Shield
1Ah Black Dragon Kalameet, the hundreds of hours I've fought this thing. Kalameet is definitely my favorite boss of the entire series, and that's saying something. It's a very difficult boss fight, yet a very fair one.
Kalameet's tail is a tricky thing to get by yourself, but not impossible by any means. Simply bait out the fire breath where he stands up on his back legs, sprint behind him and swing toward the tip of the tail. You can also stand directly behind him after an air tackle attempt. He may slam his tail down to try to crush you, dodge and swing.
As for dodging his physical attacks, err on the side of caution. If he winds up for a neck swipe, I'd roll backwards. If you're gutsy you can dodge underneath it but get out of there quickly. Boss loves to stomp directly underneath for huge damage or fly straight up and unleash a barrage of dark fire.
His dark fire attacks can be hard to dodge, key is to figure out what it's doing quickly and react. His straightforward blast is easy to dodge, but when he leaps forward and turns around spraying fire, make a judgement call, there is no guaranteed direction to dodge. Sometimes it's left, sometimes right, sometimes back. (relative to it's position)
When it rears up on it's back legs but no fire is coming then GET OUT from in front of it. I cannot stress that enough, Kalameet is trying to "grab" you and give you a debilitating debuff called calamity. Which ups damage you receive by I believe twice over.
Bottom line, practice was what helped me learn to dodge it's attacks. Thousands of fights.. not even exaggerating. God I love co-oping this fight, it gets even more health so it lasts even longer. :D (No sarcasm)
