0This is strictly me trying to beat Magus. Now, I took a couple days to really think about my strategy. I believe I mentioned in my last play session that I knew what I needed to do, I just couldn't get the rhythm of the fight. So I went in and tried battling him again. I died. Then I did it again. I died. It was time to enact Plan B.
Plan B was not something I wanted to do. Plan B meant getting out of the castle and buying as many Mid-Potions as I could afford. Thinking about how long it took me to get to Magus and how many battles I had to endure caused me intense dread. I did not want to have to do this. However, it had to be done. In the process, I would be leveling up which would only benefit me as well as acquiring new Techs. One Tech, Heal Beam for Robo, was literally going to be a lifesaver. I checked and it showed Robo learning that tech once I earned 178 or so TPs.
It was a long road, but I achieved what I set out to do. I bought all my Mid-Potions, I earned enough TPs for Robo to learn Heal Beam, and I beat Magus on the first try since executing Plan B. Oh, and I think I used only 2 Mid-Potions.
