The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: Part 03
This is incredibly frustrating. I am clearly unprepared for this mission, both in knowledge and power. I am under-leveled and unequipped with enough potions, what potions I need, or understanding how to make potions. I'm so unsure of what to do that I am wandering around in the dark. It isn't until I remember seeing a torch in my inventory that I decided to equip it but have no idea how to use it. I don't know where I'm going, both of my swords are in the red. The instructions I get from a "tip" turn out to be false. To be fair, I don't know if it listed the specific bomb I crafted. There is a boss fight midway through that has me at a complete loss. I had to look up how to defeat this Gollum character since everything I did seem to have no effect.
I was hoping that by the end of that boss fight, the mission would be over and I would be teleported out of the dungeon. No! There is still more dungeon, and I find out that there is an actual boss fight waiting for me. I have no food or potions for healing; I had used them up with the various enemies throughout the dungeon and the Gollum. From what I was reading, this boss is even harder, and there is a section that is just annoying.
This. This scenario is precisely what I didn't want to happen. I'm trapped in this dungeon and basically dead. I don't think I'm going to have enough anything to get out. Any encounter I face is going to take so much longer and just stress me out to the point where I am going to rage quit the game. So, before I got to that point, I stopped playing. Tomorrow, I am going to pick up where I left off and try to remain indifferent to the challenges that I am about to face. There are things I need to get better at, blocking and parrying, using my signs, and dodge and rolling. But I am not having fun. There was no part of this mission that has been fun. It has been nothing but one long chore, and I hate it.
The beginning of every action-RPG is like that. There are so many systems; it's all so overwhelming. The learning curve is very steep here. I honestly can say Monster Hunter World was much easier to understand, and folks were saying that game had a steep curve. So I shall power through, and hopefully, by the end of this mission, I will have a much better understanding of what I need to do to prepare for the next task.
