Wrath of the Demon developed and released by Readysoft in 1991.

Like the Amiga version, the game shows of its graphical prowess at the expense of its gameplay. Usually compared against Shadow of the beast for the same reasons. It does have a good rendition of the soundtrack though by David Whitaker. The game pretty much grinds to a halt once reaching the dungeon where the game suddenly turns into a walking simulator decades before walking sims were a thing!. Time could be saved by not going for the powerups, but that's probably not a good idea.

I had previously recorded this game thinking I could do better with a more optimal route around the dungeon but with all said and done the total time was pretty much the same. Around the middle of the game is a boss with a big stick which I found really annoying. I think you have to reel him in towards the left of the screen and then freeze and tear into him getting as many hits as possible while he's stunned. The final boss was annoying as it would only let me fire a shot after some seconds between each shot and I was never really sure If I was getting hits in as it doesn't flash like in the Amiga version. Holding the button down fires a charged shot which I should have used more. And then after all is said and done you are rewarded with …..a still image! no congrats or credits. It then loops back to the title screen. ……. Worth it !!! ….not.

The controls are pretty terrible with a notable lag between pressing fire or even a direction and having the action appear on screen. It is mostly the cause of getting hit in the dungeon. The enemy needs to be like 50 frames away from you when you choose the action else it will be too early/late.
