Enforcer: Fullmetal Megablaster by Manfred Trenz (The Master) and published by CP Verlag in 1992.

Enforcer is a side scrolling shoot em up for the Commodore 64 dubbed Katakis 2 but looks, sounds and plays more like the lost levels from Turrican III No, but it is from the same developer and he did outstanding work with the C64 and the players wanted one last game from him before the C64 faded into history.

The game is very fast. It feels like a PAL game running on an NTSC machine and adding to the challenge is a screen full of things to crash into as well as potentially many enemies and bullets on screen at once. However it's not all bad as to even the score you get different weapon powers and a shield to help you through as well as a few hidden lives to find. Enemies die quite quickly and you do get a charged shot if a bigger enemy appears. There is also a smart bomb if the screen gets to crowded that blows up everything. The game is also quite short with 6 levels but you will enjoy every second spent with it. Each level comes with its own soundtrack keeping the game interesting and a cracking soundtrack it is to. After the Events of Turrican II, I can well imagine Bren McGuire jumps back into his spacecraft and just wants to get back out there, find more bad guys and blow stuff up because he can!

If there is any criticism to be made it is that sometimes your ship can be hard to see, especially once you get max speed boost and the shield flickering away. The game does lack a certain polish but that is by design. It is a budget title after all and was sold / given away? through the german magazine Golden Disk 64 which was a disk Magazine published by CP Verlag.
