Vendetta, developed and released for the Commodore 64 by System 3 in 1990.

from C64 Wiki:
"The hero of this action adventure was played a prank on. During the war he reaped honour and glory and due to his ability he was set on a group of terrorists. But suddenly not only those were his enemies, but also his superiors and he was dismissed. His only confidants are merely his brother and the brother's daughter. His brother works for the state developing a secret formula for an ultimate weapon and the inevitable happens: His brother and the daughter are kidnapped and this by the same group that he was set on. And the police has also the opinion that he is mixed up in this case. This is too much, now is the time for VENDETTA!
Now you take over the control of our nameless hero and lead him through altogether seven levels, of which four are in a design similar to "Last-Ninja", which means "graphics diagonally from the top" and three (the intermediate games) consist of driving sequences in which helicopters are the enemies and a police patrol that demands a certain item. The aim of the game is to free the niece within an hour and then find the group's boss and eliminate him. "

System 3 keeps up there high presentation standards with a movie esque intro sequence (hidden message also shown by simply pressing space! a couple of other keys have random messages also.) In the game you get an hour to find the clues and beat the game. In each level you need to defeat enemy soldiers and search around boxes and furniture to find hidden clues and weapons. Pixel precision is required making items easy to miss. Sometimes you need to use collected items with other equipment. The combat is fairly simple but you will use ammo fast if you just hold the button down. You lose energy when hit but thankfully you re-generate it.

During the driving sections the police might ask you for a random item or clue so its best you collect em all as you never know what they will ask for. The controls in the driving section are horrible. It's like driving on ice as the car feels so floaty. If you hit a car or shoot a car you get thrown to the sides where you risk coming to a stop. Maps can be collected in the previous levels in order to show the best route in the driving sections although I missed it in level 3.

Like Tusker, the game is quite short once you know where all the items are. The ending plays out for a whole 8 minutes with a long track from Matt Gray.
