Crystal Menace - Elden Ring pt.41 (2022-03-01)
Finally back to Sellia Crystal Tunnel after getting unwillingly teleported there earlier. The Fallingstar Beast there is a super tough boss fight, and a later patch reduced it to a weaker variant (note the eye on the one I fought, and the lack of exposed eye post-patch). Killing it yielded a Somberstone Miner Bell Bearing which further confirms my need to dive through all tunnels to find a renewable source of upgrade materials.
Later as I wandered around Caelid, a cluster of Guidance Signs led me to the Sellia Hideaway, another crystal-filled cave. Its boss, a trio of rot-blighted Crystalians, was extremely tough. I was only able to beat it through my Skeletal Militiamen surviving just long enough for Night Maiden's Mist to do its thing. The reward for winning the fight (a spell called Crystal Torrent) requires a bit too much Intelligence for me to cast, so overall that effort seemed like a waste.
Afterwards, near Fort Faroth, I decided to take a shot at killing the gigantic dragon (who I later confirmed was Greyoll, mother of all dragons). Luckily, she doesn't actually get up to fight, so it's just a matter of finding the highest sources of damage I have (Poison & Frost in this case), and spending the time to whittle down her gigantic 100,000 or so HP. The roughly 50,000 Runes and another ~20,000 from the nearby dragons is a nice little boost to help me continue to pump my Intelligence.
