Gowry's Request and Scouring Caelid - Elden Ring pt.35 (2022-03-01)
1On the way back to Sorcery Town Sellia, I passed back by Gowry's shack and got an update on the status of that Needle I handed over earlier. With the needle repaired, I can deliver it to Millicent to try to stave off the "rotting sickness" that she's suffering from. Gowry also explains that he found Millicent and took the role of foster father some time ago, but his general tone and location add some serious doubt to that claim.
Getting on Gowry's good side means I've gained access to a couple of new sorceries, and Night Maiden's Mist is going to be a staple through the rest of my playthrough. It's a more usable version of Pestilent Mist. While it doesn't appear to do the health percentage damage from its prior incarnation, it still ignores defense, and has a much wider area of effect.
In my trip around Caelid, I finally noticed something I should've figured out way sooner - all of those "Rise" structures are wizard towers, and they all seem to have memory stones. Now I need to have a look across the rest of the map to see if I've missed any, since I need as many spell slots as IC an get.
