Erdtree Avatar, Sellen's Mystery, and Mausoleum's Hygiene - Elden Ring pt.38 (2022-03-01)
0The Erdtree Avatar in the Peninsula was generally a cakewalk, both due to being so early in the game, and that excellent Night Maiden's Mist sorcery I got earlier. The two tears it drops are great early-game items that would've made a few of my previous encounters much easier.
I happened upon Sellen in the Witchbane Ruins and began my longstanding confusion re: why she's trapped there but still available as a Sorcery Trainer in the Waypoint Ruins Cellar. In fact, as I tried to figure out how to free her, I nearly killed her, and my heart sunk when it occurred to me that I might've severed my link to some late-game sorceries. Luckily I could still request Absolution at the Church of Vows, but that brought me no closer to unraveling Sellen's mystery.
The note I purchased from the Nomadic Merchant in the area gave me the insight I needed to clean up that Walking Mausoleum I encountered earlier, though there's no Remembrances that I want to duplicate for now.
The Tower of Return at the bottom of the Weeping Peninsula gave me a preview of the Capital (presumably the end of the game?), but I was unable to proceed further.
