This game seems pretty rough around the edges... Anyway, here's one of the most interesting finds so far, allowing one to drop past some of the game's insta-death triggers with ease. Technically this trick also allows falling safely from somewhat higher than normal (in certain conditions).

Falling into a chasm in a gun stance roll (or rarely from some other reason too) makes the respawning animation cancel out. Now you can do another gun stance roll into the same chasm quicker than usual and take advantage of the fact that the protagonist is still momentarily immune to death collision from his previous run-in with it. You fall a few seconds deeper into the chasm than previously before becoming vulnerable to insta-death collision again. However, Rourke must have hit solid ground before this safe period ends or he will automatically die. This means that the chasm you do this glitch at can't be too deep...

In Prologue, it's pretty simple to go out of map using this trick. Maybe it could come handy in other ways elsewhere in the game. For example, if there's a level that demands quick descending, you could do a falling down shortcut or something.
