Dark Destiny is a King's Field fangame by DMPDesign made in the Sword of Moonlight editor. The game follows the story of Dias Bagil, the man who would go on to become KF1US's Necron, as he seeks to unlock the darkness hidden deep inside him.

If you'd like to play this game, the full installer can be found here:

Clearing out the starting area so I can start gaining levels and even more power!

Not going to detail every single path I explore, but here's some of the highlights...

First, remember that one path going east I said to skip (Which would be the second path coming back from the barracks)? Check that out. There's a house with a couple items (Moon Stone, Earth Herb), but more importantly, an area in the back with a pedestal and a large crystal. The pedestal has no use right now, but the large crystal allows you to save your game. Do that before you go on with exploring.

Next, Al Hunt, the guy who loves to eat. He is your first merchant. Nothing you absolutely need to be successful here as the weapons & armor he sells can be found elsewhere.

Next, Fai. Talking to him some more will give you two new items. The first is Fai's Map which maps out the area you're in and can be looked at anytime via your inventory. Rather nice to keep on hand.

The other item is much fabled Star Gate. Use this, be whisked away to wherever your Star Key may be...except we don't have that Star Key yet and it'll be awhile before we stumble upon it. Feel free to search the cave Fai is in for some enemies & Earth Herbs.

In the cave with Skeletons & Green Slimes, kill off everything (yes, even the Skeletons. No, they are not instant death with all your armor pieces found this far equipped), then search for a chest in the area with a Blood Stone...and a surprise rogue root system that wants to strangle you and randomly inflict paralysis. So long as you open the chest and get back, you'll be fine.

Once you've cleaned out the starting area to the best of your abilities (A few locked doors here can't be dealt with until later), heal up at the blue fountain and head back into the barracks. While killing everything in your path, head back west, but this time go loot that body you saw by some ants for a Short Sword. I prefer to stick to the quick recharge time of Bane, but the Short Sword is not a bad choice if you want a damage boost and don't mind the noticeably slower recharge time (The weight of a weapon like Bane compared to Necron's Blade lv1 is a good example of this quick vs. slow recharge time).

Checking out the path past that body going west, there's some Ants (Watch out for that ranged shot of theirs), a Green Slime, and a Skeleton. There's also a 50 gold chest in the back. Kill everything, get the chest, then head back to that body that had the Short Sword and go south. When the path branches east, take it.

Keep going east to find...Commander Rolf's base of operations! Yeah he's not happy. I'll be dealing with him later, but for now, I grab a Rapier & Shin Guards. The latter is an upgrade to your boots while the former is a great weapon for taking down the guards you've seen prancing about here. It takes roughly half as long to down one with the Rapier compared to Bane so switch to the Rapier when fighting them and use Bane otherwise for everything else.

With these items in hand, I exit the base by going west all the way, then south to a bridge. The switch for it is nearby. Deal with the guard here, then keep going south, then east, into a new area. Take the steps you see to your south, then go west to another pedestal & save point.

Maybe Rolf will get what's coming to him next time? Who knows!
