Dark Destiny is a King's Field fangame by DMPDesign made in the Sword of Moonlight editor. The game follows the story of Dias Bagil, the man who would go on to become KF1US's Necron, as he seeks to unlock the darkness hidden deep inside him.

Quite a bit to get done today so let's kick the day off with...rest? Yeah, Harry's Inn allows you to rest for 50 gold. You will regain all of your hp & mp as well as get a vision about a particular place.

Next, I head into the nearby village as there are several things of interest to check out there.

First, to the mayor's house!

In the mayor's building, there are a few items strewn about (Hand Axe, Moon Stone, Red Medicine) as well as two people to talk to. The one walking all around the place is the mayor and he mentions giving you the key to the village...if you can pull out a piece of ore in the nearby cave. That is currently impossible to do right now as it requires a high enough strength to do that.

As for the other one just standing in a corner of the building? He's a prince and he mentions a captain, James, was arrested at the port in Central Village and taken to the old dungeons amongst Harvine's ancient castle. He asks you to free James when you find him.

As for the merchant Raffy Foss and his partner in crime, He has some decent wares, namely those Studded Gloves for 85 gold. Pick them up right away.

As for his partner, she mentions a gate beyond the garrison that is locked unless you have permission to pass into the Central Village. She also talks about this village's mayor and how he's being greedy by pushing for more taxes and storing stuff in the nearby storehouse (Which is sealed for the record). She also makes mention of that locked house with the areas around it blocked off so nobody can find what's on the other side.

Finally, if you check around the water carefully, you'll find a hidden Knight's Helm. Vastly superior defenses compared to the Iron Mask. I did not find this until later though so I'll show off me picking it up when I do collect it.

With that complete, its time to go back into the barracks and explore it some more. Just head north past that corpse with an Ant prowling around it, then turn east. Take the steps leading downwards that you will see on your right to find a couple guards mulling about. The Rapier will off them quickly with one dropping a Leather Buckler.

Take the steps back up, then take the third path on your left that is going north. This should lead to a small cavern with a pair of Spiders. Nothing fancy regarding them, just note that they have a ranged attack they can use.

As for items in this little cave, there are a pair of Earth Herbs lying around plus a Moon Stone & Blue Medicine if you check the tombstones. If you examine the back of the tombstone of Nathaniel Veyrac, the famous Sword Master, you'll find an Ancient Relic. Must be important so hold on to it for now.

If you want, take out the zombie roaming around in back. It has a long stun time from any hits you deliver on it. This is important because you cannot damage it again until it recovers from being stunned. This fact applies to all enemies for that matter.

Now, we need to go all the way back to Rolf's base. To get there from this cave, head south out of the cave, then go west all the way, then south until you see a path going east right after the textures change. Through the door you see and you'll find yourself outside Rolf's base. There's a nearby save point which I would advise using before hunting down Rolf.

To find him, just turn north before heading up some stairs and look in the back of the base while facing north. If you see a large knight firing a sonic wave at you, that's Rolf. He will SPAM that ranged shot if you are so much as a few feet away from him (and it hurts too!). He also recovers fast from any hits.

When he falls, a gate up the steps you saw coming into his base opens, granting you passage to the next area. There's also a few important items to collect like the Jail Key on the desk, the first Wind Crystal in a chest (Grants Wind Cutter, 3 mp, fires off a blue crescent which can hit one enemy), and the Commander's Blade hanging on the wall. This ends up being my main weapon for awhile. Yes it's heavy, but it's also quite powerful.

The one jail cell in here has a knight you should talk to. He'll hand over a pass which will let you get past a gate to get deeper into Central Village.

After refreshing at the golden fountain and heading up those steps to kill some more enemies, I proceed towards the direction of the Central Village.

More next time!
