This is a nostalgic NG+ playthrough that I did in December 2020.

Immediately after leaving the Church of Yorshka, when you get to the graveyard, if you turn right, there is a gravestone guarded by one of those winged enemies from the Road of Sacrifices with an Undead Bone Shard behind it. You'll also get invaded by Creighton the Wanderer if you help Sirris fight him in her world and Pontiff is still alive. You can get the Dragonslayer Axe for killing his red phantom and his armor set will be on the bridge into Irithyll after you defeat his invasion.


I know I skipped over a lot of pick ups in this stage, but again, this is not really a walkthrough, just a nostalgic playthrough. I find the Irithyll enemies to be rather rough because they're so fast and spammy when they attack. Pardon me for that.


Pontiff Sulyvahn is one of the worst bosses I've ever faced in the Souls series. He spams his attack, breaks your guard, and seemingly never runs out of stamina - and he summons a clone in phase two, as if he wasn't hard enough already! One of the few bosses in this series that I truly hate. I can parry his first attack easily enough by watching for his sword to get into the 12 o'clock position, but I never got good at parrying his other attacks. That's why I always bring Anri or Gotthard into the fight with me - to keep Pontiff off of me when I need to heal and regroup.
