Dark Souls 3 part 15 - The Dreg Heap
This is a nostalgic NG+ playthrough that I did in December 2020.
Beginning 0:38
Lapp 3:42
Second bonfire and Titanite Slab 4:34
Demon Prince 7:43
You can clearly see that I'm in the Kiln of the First Flame at the beginning of the video, and that's because I needed the warp bonfire to get to The Ringed City. I saved all of the footage from the cutscene where you enter the Kiln in that particular video. I didn't do the Ashes of Ariandel DLC because I don't like either boss in it, so I had to come here late in my playthrough.
This is the first part of The Ringed City DLC, encompassing all of the mishmashed areas of the world, including Earthen Peak from Dark Souls II. I skip over most of it with the Cat Ring and a shortcut though.
I've co-oped this boss a lot, and what throws me off is how many people kill the orange demon first. That makes the Demon Prince that summons fireballs spawn, and I find him way harder to fight than the laser Demon Prince. The fireball prince can often one shot me with 40 Vigor in higher NG cycles. The demons are weak against Dark or Deep weapons, but also against Black Knight weapons. I was using the Black Knight Sword one handed because the two handed damage versus stamina loss per swing wasn't worth it to two hand. I think this boss is super annoying when soloing, because the first phase has two demons coming after you, so I always summon Lapp to take the heat off of me. He's a really good helper too, often outdamaging me in higher NG cycles. I always have to work fast to kill the red demon before he can kill the orange one. Also, you can stagger the demons if you hit them enough times. Before I respecced her and started using the Black Knight Sword, I used to use my Mace with Dark Weapon as a buff. Hammer weapons stagger and break poise faster than straight swords.
