Seath the Scaleless

Health: 5,525
Souls: 60,000

Strategy:

-Found in the duke's archives

-First Encounter with Seath is unwinnable. You cannot damage him. Try to get killed by his attacks and not from curse build-up, because you'll be forced to a new bonfire that isn't connected to the other ones.

-In the second encounter deep in the Crystal Cave, you need to do one thing first: Destroy the primordial crystal FIRST, as it makes him vunerable. It's the glowing strand at the far end of the arena that the cutscene focuses on.

-Seath Has only a few modes of attack, he either Stomps around with his multiple tail things, he slams to the left or right with his claws or he breaths crystal breath that damages you when hit and also causes crystals to protrude from the floor, with do damage and cause the curse effect to build up.

-To protect yourself from CURSE, a few armor sets have a resistance to it: The Paladin Set, the Dingy Set and the Antiquated Set. You can also equip the Cursebite Ring, which is found in the house in the New Londo Ruins; the one Ingward is on top of. If you DO end up getting cursed, Ingward can curse it for the cost of 1 humanity.

-Seath is actually BLIND, so using the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring or the Hush spell allows you to move around undetected by him. Of course, if you attack, he'll respond no matter what.

-You can return to the first encounter room and get a Large Magic Ember there along with a powerful soul.

-Strong versus magic damage but weak to lightning and fire. Magic attacks and arrows are both fairly effective strategies against this guy.

-Cut off its tail for the Moonlight Greatsword. You need to be attacking the tip of its extreme back tail, as its "tail" only counts for about the back half of it. As with all these guys, it's the part that breaks off, and it usually leaves a large portion behind.

-For close range fighters, the best place to be to fight this guy is around it's left or right flank. Stay infront of it and a bit of a way's back. If you're in the right position, you'll be able to draw out it's easy-to-avoid breath attacks and get in a counter-hit. Getting behind any of its tails or fins or whatever and it'll respond with wild stomping attacks, and is also more likely to pull out its crystal explosion, which is by far its most dangerous ability.

-If you see Seath curling up and a glowing ball appear between its hands, you'll want to back off, like really back off. If you've already got some good distance you should be okay to just back away, but if you find you're fairly close to Seath, it'd probably be a good idea to start sprinting to one of the far directions. The arena is sort of oblong, like an oval, so you'll want to head to either of the far sides as the crystals will usually spread far enough to completely cover the middle area.

-It's straight breath is probably the easiest to avoid, along with its hand swipes. Those are good opportunities to attack.

Attacks:

-Crystal Beam: It has two variations of this attack, where it'll shoot its crystal beam in an arc infront of itself or one thats further out. Either way, just follow its head and move yourself accordingly.

-Crystal Explosion: This is its worst attack. It puts its hands together and brings its head down, charging up a round energy ball. If you see it doing this, RUN. If you've got good curse resistance, it's possible to block this attack as well, but getting cursed is no fun, so unless you're feeling brave or are forced to take the hit, it's probably not worth it.

Tail thrasher: It thrashes around with its tails. There's two variations of this; either he picks them up and slams the down twice, or he swipes all his tails around. The swiping one is a pain to deal with, you just have to get back out of range if you want to avoid it. These attacks are best avoided, he basically never pulls them off if you remain infront of his tails.

Hand Swipe: He's attempt to smack you with either his left or right hand. Pretty easy to avoid, but its super damaging, so try to avoid it.

Special Drops:

-Bequeathed Lord Soul Shard

-1 Humanity

-Moonlight Greatsword (sever tail)
