DFFOO [JP][Crystal Quest] Just a random Crystal Quest renewal run with Jihl/Enna/Serah with passives
I seem to recall that I have never done one on crystal quest Lv.3 and Jihl has not been on screen for a bit. Therefore maybe I will just do one for both of them.
I ran this once with Vincent in place of Serah as well since I haven't used him on screen since his FR, but this boss reduces buff/debuff timer to 1T when they have FT. Having that many buffs and debuffs to renew, buff maintenance was kind of a chore (technically don't need to retain all of his buffs, but still). Maybe some other time.
This week's default Crystal Quest is Queen FR/BT's event (raid? I believe). Lv.3 buffs them with 50% increased HP. They did not have much to begin with, so the difficulty is still at the beginning of the fight where they lower your max HP to 10% and potentially pretty much one-shot you with whatever HP move they want to use.
With the power of Jihl Nabaat's Daze, Enna Kros's turn deletion as well as a little push from Seymour LDCA plus WoL's shield, they largely became a very trivial matter.
Jihl:
Besides her ridiculous amount of AOE dmg from EX, Jihl's ability to proc her S2 is still very desirable in a party's FT just to get those extra 30% FR HP bonus. Besides using her EX to manually remove her behemoth overhead, you can also spam her turns to lower the count to close to 0. That way when you move and naturally lose the buff after BT is on, the S2 proc would activate and grant you an extra 30%.
Another way is just to have crystal passive U4 or use Enna Kros LDCA (can't in this one because she is in the party). The 20% RNG proc also works in BT phase. So you can also potentially spam her EX more than twice there (My highest record was 5).
Crystal Passives:
U1/U4/A1 were used here.
U1: 50% ATK up, BRV regen at 80% iBRV, 5% max HP regen as one golden buff
I newly acquired this buff, so I just wanted to have a go with it. Obviously with only 10% max HP, the HP regen does not have much left to be desired.
The 50% extra ATK up is very nice to use with A1 and other sources of ATK up.
80% iBRV regen is actually not too bad. You can see the Fusoya LDCA in this run as well and it batteries with 100% iBRV on HP dmg. I gave it to Enna with the highest iBRV in the party (around 6800 before entering battle). You can see with Serah in the party, I was actually getting around 30K in between HP dumps. It may be a bit overkill in this party, since Serah already gives a lot of refund and battery.
Tbh this golden buff is not something that would make you in awe, but it is still somewhat nice to have. It would only be problematic if: (1) You need the crystal passive slot for something else; or (2) said crystal colour character is filled with buffs already. Since these three do not have a lot of buffs, this golden buff is just kind of nice to have when you don't have a lot of meaningful options.
A1: base mBRV/ATK+20%, +10% every 5 "action"
I have already covered this one with a blue crystal team. It is exceptionally beneficial to someone like Jack G and Astos because of the mBRV scaling. It is still very nice to have for others to stack on top of CAs, since these buffs do not take up buff slots. This is particularly helpful for someone that has additional attacks, as they count as 2 actions (exception: Aranea's aerial BT follow-up). It is even more useful for when you run an almost 3 DPS party. Supply yourself with some BRV dmg, and you are almost good to go.
U4: 20% chance to max EX charge
The first passive that I actively sought after. It is arguably one of the most game changing ones besides maybe AD up/SPD down for passive off-turn attackers and the one with LD+2 for certain characters. It is basically a free Enna Kros LDCA that is always active. It also changes how you approach BT phases, since it gives you potentially more than 1 naturally acquired EX.
For most of the white crystal characters that I have, their best move or functionally desirable move very often turn out to be their EX. Enna Kros with her AOE, Jihl as mentioned, Serah, Seymour. Even Vincent is part of this gang.
P.S. Jihl's healing is still something to behold. Imagine someone put on that 20% overheal defensive crystal passive just for the sake of overkill.
