DFFOO [JP][Lightning IW] Rebreakers and delayers assembled with Lightning FR/BT
24Was going to see who gives me her FR/BT first. Turns out Lightning loves me a lot more and gave me a free FR, and not a lot of pulls until her BT.
Quite an eventful day as well. My PC is currently on the verge of dying to overheating it seems. If I take too long recording a video on bluestacks, pc starts slowing down and eventually displays a black screen. So I was kind of in a hurry and made a bit of mistake here, but I think the idea is conveyed for the most part.
The main goal is to utilise Lightning as a ST rebreaker to trigger more Dorgann follow-up without Iris. More on this later.
Boss does not have enough HP for lightning + Dorgann, and I haven't even done any crystal passives for this yet. So treat it like an ordinary IW (i.e. really easy to be dealt with)
Boss: Iron Giant / Behemoth
Force:

40%: Player mBRV down (not to anywhere near 0) and 50% BRV gain down
50%: HP poison (20% I think)
FA: Metta (?) Slash+ (AOE BRV attack)
- grants 999% HP dmg reduction (dispelled when broken)
- becomes +version if player has less than 6 buffs in total
- additionally remove all frame inclusive buffs
- guarantees hit
FT: 10T
Deals rainbow BRV dmg (still suspectable to nullification and absorption)
Weakness:
FA that deals lightning dmg to Iron Giant
No threshold related mechanics.
General Approach:
Not much about them, but they do like to hang around each other and interfere with your delays. In a way you can use it to your advantage and counter them continuously with Beatrix by breaking them "wrongly".
The major thing is at 30% FG, Iron Giant cleanses everything and put on 8 framed buffs, which includes BRV/HP regen, AD down and SPD up. It should be okay as long as you deal with the buffs or deal with their turns accordingly. They don't charge FG all that fast though, so speed charging through the stage is a very viable option as well.
Lightning + Dorgann + 1:
Even though Lightning and Dorgann aren't made for each other's FR due to elemental differences, they still work very well together. As Lightning is a ST rebreaker and using Dorgann BT's ability to create a single unbroken target, one can control Lightning to conduct an alternating attack on the "still broken" target to manually get Dorgann to do 2 image slash+ consistently without any form of help from say Iris.
Due to the peculiar nature of what constitutes attacks within 1T though, the +1 has to be chosen carefully. If we go for Cor, who is an AOE preemptive striker, even when Cor/Lightning break two different targets, they are counted as within the same turn. As a result, Dorgann would only do 1 attack.
On the other hand, Leo is not the most optimal choice either because one must hit the 1 target with his debuff to trigger his follow-up. Since we have to alternate between targets, half of the time he won't be doing his off-turn attack. Although, with Lightning's ridiculously high HP dmg cap now and with her newfound power of innate Leo LD effect built-in to her LD, stacking the same effect from the actual Leo gives quite a substantial amount of extra DPS as well.
Noctis would be more optimal in this regard.
Interestingly enough, Aranea is about to get her echo and BT. So we will have a mediator with an even fatter HP dmg cap up FR with off-turn delay bonus for the both of them. I look forward to seeing this combo coming to fruition.
Regarding Lightning:
Just like the other start dashers, they all have the extra 50% HP dmg cap up to themselves from their BT rework. Lightning also has the added advantage of having an extra 30% HP dmg cap up from breaking targets due to her own FR. So you can have a simple 110% HP dmg cap up for herself using her FR without factoring in her armor and UW.
As a complementary effect, her LD now has a built-in Leo LD effect for an extra HP dmg dump that scales with said increased cap. She is definitely dishing out quite a lot of dmg with that 12-dump EX.
Her skills are mostly for stance changes. Since her BT is the hardest hitting thing and it can be constantly spammed under her BT effect, you can pretty much stay in BLA(JP) / RAV (EN) and delay your opponent to oblivion with her EX. Coincidentally, this should work relatively well with Quistis's FR since Lightning's Ex has both innate delay and (re)break delay.
The interesting thing about using lightning's FR is that it actually does not unbreak anything at all. It only grants free turns. Therefore you actually can control to a certain extent where she will continuously go. You can use her FR breaking no one on purpose, and let the others load the FR% with their echoes before going all in. I actually made a silly mistake of using her FR inside BT when the target was not broken. That cost me a bit of FR% gain, but ultimately it does not matter because everything was long dead before then.
