Digimon Hacker's Memory No Digivolution Part 14: Seraphimon & Kerpymon, Legend Angels, Mushroomon

...and more (didn't fit in the video title)!
This video is a compilation of five boss battles of the game's 16th chapter, as we've now approached the endgame. The Legendary Cup is now available at the Offline Colosseum; however, none of the Digimon there are scannable, even the ones that can be otherwise scanned in other fights in the remaining chapters of the game. Both the Legendary Cup and the post-game exclusive Master Cup are therefore only worth doing as part of the postgame content after we're done with the maingame.
0:00 Seraphimon & Kerpymon (Good)
As per the sidestory, we interrupt the ongoing feud between these two Mega Digimon and end up having to fight both. Very bad idea, as we are plunged into a match of sandbagging marked by Kerpymon's healing and passive regeneration. Luckily for us, there is a light at the end of the tunnel - buffing up Plesiomon's INT can find us stacking so much of the stat that we break the stalemate and overcome the persistent healing.
Both the bosses rely on magical damage, so high INT on an all-Data team is a good idea, and bringing us, for instance, the usual MegaKabuterimon supporters would cause us to drown under the weight of the magical barrage we would otherwise be subjected to. The two Digitamamons I bring instead are Vaccine-resistant and can use fractional damage attacks on the bosses before they lose too much HP.
It is however the INT stack that ends up sealing our victory.
Why didn't I use a Virus team with Character Reversal support? The bosses are apparently immune... :(
5:31 Legend Angels Leader (MagnaAngemon, Seraphimon, Angewomon)
I would guess that the bosses here are not immune to Bug, but with three of them you wouldn't even bother trying a Virus-vs-Vaccine strat against them. The much better news is that the dungeon we emerge from gives us a far superior roster of Data digimon, so much that not we can start bugging Virus-types for them to face instead of accommodating a non-existent Data roster. Remember that Gryphonmon we failed to scan during the maingame? It now roams freely in the wild, meaning we can scan multiple copies. I go for two, one of which comes in handy in this fight as a powerful ST piercer, but a more surprising addition to the party is a 2nd MT piercer to Plesiomon in Volcanomon, whose charismatic Big Bang Voice performance deals roughly comparable damage to the Digimon we witnessed earlier.
Together, our Data piercing trio easily mops the floor with the opposition, and not even Seraphimon's one-time death protection can stop us. The more entertaining part of the battle is Gryphonmon's 20% chance to bug its target (yeah, it creates exactly the types of situations you thought of) proccing against Angewomon, forcing me to switch in a GranKuwagamon just to watch it eat a OHKO from MagnaAngemon's Heaven's Gate. Classic, and a great cliffhanger to a fun fight.
10:15 Mushroomon
You'd think a battle against a rookie Digimon in chapter 16 wouldn't even be worth recording, but the reality is the opposite. It is easily the most action-packed battle of this whole set.
Mushroomon's Fungus Crusher is the sole reason, inflicting severe damage against our party while proccing anywhere up to five (I think) different status ailments. Some, like sleep and panic render the affected Digimon unable to even move, while dot can stop us from using techs (we can still use items, like the ever useful Multi-Recovery DX). Because Data has now become a more powerful type in terms of piercing damage, it is now Vaccine that's our weakest type, MegaKabuterimon being its strongest representatives, when it comes to facing Virus Digimon. Mushroomon is bugged, and when that happens (the opening trio comes prepared with three different ailment blocks) I switch in the penetrative Data squad.
Guess what? Mushroomon terrorises them till the end of the world by using Fungus Crusher literally all the time. He fails to pose much of a threat offensively, so it's only a matter of time until he goes down.
13:02 Mysterious Digital Face (Wingdramon, Groundramon)
A boss battle against a Virus and a Vaccine so you guessed it - we're bugging the Virus-type for the whole duo to be beatable with a Data team. Gryphonmon dealing triple damage with Supersonic Voice makes it a very swift, painless victory.
16:33 Arcadiamon Ultimate
The first of a series of battles against Arcadiamon's digivolution forms, the next one being easily the hardest fight I had to do in the whole run. The Ultimate form is weak in comparison though, even though the boss's perennial immunity to bug means we are stuck with 3 MegaKabuterimon's as our party of choice. They're not particularly threatened as they unleash their Horn Busters on the boss here, and the Dot status that the boss sometimes inflicts does little to impede us in our domination.
