Another main case that's unavoidable for the purpose of making progress in this game. Unable to wait until I can finally replace MegaKabuterimons in my party, I rush main cases so that I can squeeze in some use for the powercreepin' Neptunemon as the superior Vaccine piercer.
A boss that I thought warranted inclusion due to its unusual gimmick. While a number of bosses and enemies in general will attempt to inflict Panic on your team in this game, Megidramon will instead... inflict Panic on himself alongside more sensible attack and speed buffs. It functions as a kind of berserk status, except he will be attacking both himself and us indiscriminately, resulting in some damage incurred even before we begin (properly) attacking.
The boss is virus-type, meaning MegaKabuterimons remain my best Vaccine piercing users. Dissatisfied with that, I exploit the boss's weakness to Bug by starting with a party of two SkullSatamons and a KingEtemon - the former attempt to survive for long enough until Character Reversal connects, whereas the latter debuffs some of the same stats the boss has been routinely boosting.
With the boss bugged, we switch out Data team in, Plesiomon almost matching Gryphonmons' damage thanks to water being effective against fire. With KingEtemon no longer in the party and the boss accumulating such an insane number of turns, we will end up with him having a ton of buffs but no debuffs, resulting in some OHKO potential the constant type disadvantage notwithstanding, which is something we saw in the battle against Omnimon as well.
Do we resurrect the fallen, heal up or keep on attacking? This is a question to be asked multiple times over this battle, and the answer probably depends on how much we've depleted the boss's health.
