DOOM The Dark Ages | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
1202025 really has been a great year for gaming so far. We have had a lot of hits and in May we get another one with Doom The Dark Ages. This plays as a prequel to the other games of the soft reboot series where we once again play as the awesome Doom Slayer. This time we take on the forces of evil in a more medieval setting with some twists and turns along the way.
The overall scale is very epic and you have plenty of variety as now you also have missions where you get to pilot a giant mech or get to fly a fearsome dragon. There are still your typical levels that work in a linear fasion, but you also have multiple chapters where it feels more like an open world and you can tackle objectives in any order that you wish and you also can explore the world for side stuff.
The action feels awesome and the overall pace is great. There is also a really cool twist in the second half of the game.
Probably the weakest point is that none of the friendly NPC's really do anything as they just stand there. I understand that Doom is an ego FPS where you don't have team mates, but maybe having them actually do animated fighting in the background would have helped. You see a lot of ships and tanks battle in the distance and it would have been cool too to see some infantry to add to the epic scope. All in all Doom The Dark Ages is another bloody good time for those who want to release some stress in an awesome setting!
