The folks of the Doomer Boards certainly have shown they can create unique projects, as I've gone over in several episodes and its time I bring this one the attention it deserves as one of my personal favorite wads which, was going to be in a future season but bumped to Season 16.
Released in 2020 on September 1rst, I.D. Archive getting a Link on October 8th 2020, Ten Day Vacation is a 10 map wad pieced together by the team of 40oz, Big Ol' Billy, SuperCupCakeTactics, Joe-Ilya, Zillah, Glen McColl, ChaingunnerX and A2Rob of the Doomer Boards. There's not really a story to this wad rather then after 26 Doomer Board Projects, It's time to relax and take a vacation, but when can we ever relax in Doom?
Heavily inspired by Duke Nukem: Life's a Beach, an expansion pack for Duke Nukem 3D, We have our pistol that shoots water now, enemy sprites I recognized from Ray Mohawk (specifically the Sunglasses Zombieman, the Hula skirt Imp and the Punk rocker Shotgun guy that DoomKid made), Apples we munch for armor and hot sauce giving us berserk. So many different changes with Map01's Midi version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Californication setting the theme for a tropical adventure.
Ten Day Vacation will hurt if you do not respect your berserk in tight quarters, aren't strafing to avoid revenant homing shots and using your ammo correctly. You will be facing ammo puzzles that force you to infight too, First Doomer Board Project I've gone over that requires this but yes, It made a impression on me as a labor of love, and one of the best wads I've gone over in this series' history.
