The Doom Wads/Mods series had a rough start but over those 3 years I've tried my best to get better quality on the videos, and throughout it all, much like the other series' I run, I strive to make content that appeals to the fans of mods and the overall games themselves, and this special is one I had planned sometime last year but waited til now to run for I wanted to get the 32 wads and mods that I felt needed to be gone over again.

This megawad was released on June 11th 1998 by Matt Tropiano who would later create the cacoaward runnerup Coffee Break Episode 1, His megawad when he was just 13 years old. I guess we start somewhere, right? Dimensions Of Time's storyline is that the UAC is engineering Slipgates to both the future and past but Hell itself has made a slipgate to go directly to our world of the present times, and as a lone marine, We need to get through these slipgates to confront demons everywhere in the world before taking the fight to hell itself.

Firstly, Dimensions of Time cannot escape the fact that its mapping is... among the ugliest in a megawad I've seen from the late 1990's with many of the maps only using between 1 to 3 textures and that gets hard on the eyes. Ammo placement and armor placement is modest and not bad or good but on higher skills its the one thing that'll make a difference when you are dealing with squads of hitscanners in confined rooms or huge open areas.

The music of this wad is a mix of tunes from Rise of the Triad, TNT Evilution, and Midi tracks from AOL with Sublime's Santeria and Phil Collins' Take Me home being examples of tracks within Dimensions of Time. I always wondered how and what lead to the inspiration of music from bands or artists to become midi music, as the two said tracks are a bit odd for doom level music.

The last episode is where DOT hits a wall as the mapping looks... terrible, yet the storyline itself does hit its hell, but for 1998 these hell maps look less refined vs the hell maps of Doom or the hellscapes of Doom II, and while DOT does have some parts to it that are decent, I can't recommend it unless you want to see how Tropinao got his start with megawad mapping.

[[I still have mixed feelings about this megawad as yeah, everyone does start somewhere but it just doesn't hold up vs megawads today. I did finish this megawad several times but I didn't feel any achievement at all and rather emptyness as the finale map is the doom II Icon of Sin but with a slower lift and a pit you can't escape if you fall in, which pissed me off. I guess there's fans out there and with mods its more tolerable, but DOT is a relic that should be put in a museum.]]
