Doom Wads/Mods The Rejected #16:BioTech
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/biotech2 The term Total Conversion means a lot in the world of Doom as it began with a legendary file named "Aliens TC" by Justin Fisher back in 1994 and I've gone across many TC's that have changed how Doom looks but also plays. Doom TC's wouldn't have taken off if it hadn't been for Justin and many others in the modding scene.
BioTech, released on January 4rth 2001 by a team composed of Mark The Artist, Kyle Kylin, TheRedOmen, Beaverbeat, Protium, and Khalad is a 8 level Partial conversion with new DeHackED enemies, a modified weapon and new music for Maps 1 to 3. BioTech's story involves us as a Bounty Hunter hired to investigate "BioTech", A shady company working with the UAC who's mutants and creatures have escaped, causing chaos at the facility.
The DeHackED changes are pretty unusual with the Shotgunguy having two variants which, one replaces the Human Zombie with a Pistol wielding shotgunguy, Arachnotron has become a boss with 12,000 hit points and our Plasma weapon is now a laser like weapon among other changes, Music feels out of place for a wad like this, mapping for 2001 is decent but there's a lot of bare areas too. BioTech's not anything special but its alright.
[[The TC is another file I will go over while making a season, I was going to feature BioTech in Season 13 as the first episode vs LunchLunch's 10x10 project. Though, BioTech despite its somewhat bare detailed mapping, it actually does what a Partial conversion should do]]
