*– GAME OVERVIEW –*
_Door Door_ for the Famicom is a 2D fixed-screen puzzle platformer. It was ported by Chunsoft (now Spike Chunsoft) and published by Enix (now Square Enix) as their first title for the Famicom. The game was released in Japan on July 15, 1985.
• _Door Door_ won a prize in a home computer game development contest sponsored by Enix in 1982.
◦ Koichi Nakamura, best known as one of the creators of the groundbreaking Dragon Quest (ドラゴンクエスト) – [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXeuWoBp40mnBUmBKQ0S--utu9RspzkLW] – and founder of Chunsoft, personally designed and programmed it for the NEC PC-8801.
◦ After acquiring the rights, Enix first released the game in Japan in February 1983. Ports to various Japanese home computers followed.
• In _Door Door,_ the player controls a small character – named Chun – who is tasked with completing each round by trapping different types of aliens behind sliding doors.
◦ Chun was also a nickname given to Koichi Nakamura by one of his friends.
• The Famicom port of _Door Door_ is actually based on _Door Door mkII (ドアドアmkII),_ an expanded version of the original, with (among other things) extra rounds and a new enemy, Otypon (the green tadpole).
• _Door Door_ was a critical and commercial success and is considered a classic for the Famicom.
