Final Fantasy VI Advance - Ch. 11 - Zozo
0PREVIOUSLY ON FINAL FANTASY VI ADVANCE:
Last time, we entered the beginning of what I consider Act 2 of this game. After defending Narshe from Kefka's forces, Terra once again responds to the Esper. Only this time, she transforms and goes flying past the mountains westward. So we went from Narshe, to Figaro and traveled under the mountains to Kohlingen (nice backstory for Edgar and Sabin if the Figaro Bros are in your party). There we found Shadow, who's down to hang, but as per usual, tells you he may leave at any time. Kohlingen is also the home town of Rachel, the girl that Locke 'failed', so we see a little of Locke's story as well. Lastly, we made our way to Jidoor, where the 1% is living it up. They tell us they kicked out all the poor people and they formed their own town near the mountains, Zozo. At the inn, we seem to peer into one of Shadow's dreams. That's right, we hit the backstory hat trick and get a little Shadow exposition as well.
IN THIS CHAPTER:
We head to Zozo, where the clues about Terra's whereabouts have led us. This place is interesting because it's really not even a town, since you get random battles. I had to practice this part a couple times. My low-level characters were having trouble with the 'Hill Gigas'es, coupled with the constant anxiety that Shadow was going to leave me. I actually left him KO-ed for a couple battles just in case. Edgar's chainsaw comes in handy and Sabin finally learned 'Rising Phoenix', so between the Figaro Bros, I had some coordinated muscle going there. There's some good treasures, like the Brigand's Glove for Locke, which changes 'Steal' into 'Mug'. The boss for this area, 'Dadaluma', is not that tough. You should be able to beat him in just a few turns. Make sure to unequip Shadow before going inside, because he's definitely going to dip before you get another chance.
