So last time, we were pinned down by Golbez in the vault room of King Giott's castle. We must've felt overconfident after beating that giant creepy baby doll boss, Calcobrena and let our guards down. Golbez wasn't messing around either. None of our attacks were landing and he summonded a badass Shadow Dragon that killed off everyone in my party, one-by-one, except Cecil. All seemed lost, when suddenly... a Mist Dragon appeared! A Mist Dragon. Mist. You know what that means. Rydia's still alive and she's OP now, cuz her Mist Dragon takes out the Shadow Dragon in one hit. We couldn't stop Golbez from stealing the Crystal, but at least we lived to fight another day.
CHAPTER 11 - THE TOWER OF BABIL, I
There's only one crystal left! Golbez has the four Light Crystals and he had already knabbed two Dark Crystals off-screen and with Giott's crystal, that makes three. Golbez is no doubt heading to the place where the last crystal is. So... what if we pulled off a heist of all the Crystals Golbez has so far, while he's off getting the last one? Genius! They're hidden in the Tower of Babel, a massive tower that stretches from the Underworld to the Overworld. The plan is to have some badass Drawf tanks distract their cannons while we sneak in.
This place may seem challenging for like five minutes, but they you find new weapons for everyone and it becomes a breeze. I think I missed the Ice Armor somewhere in here, but it didn't seem to hold me back much, if at all. About halfway through, you'll see a locked door which leads to the control room for the cannons. You'll need to get to the top and beat the underwhelming boss for this dungeon, Dr. Lugae
Doctor Lugae will appear with his Frankenstein-like creation, Barnabas. It's best to try and fight both at the same time. If you beat the Doctor first, Barnabas will self-destruct. If you beat Barnabas first, the Doctor will actually take control of Barnabas' body and become Barnabas-Z. I wasn't able to pull it off this time and ended facing Z, who's not tough at all either. After the fight concludes, you'll head straight into another fight against 'Dr. Lugae', the fiend form of the doctor. You can easily get by just by attacking with your front row fighters. Maybe throw in a Summon or Black Magic if you want.
After the fight, you'll get Dr. Lugae's key. All we gotta do now is just head back down to control room and it's total victory, right? I mean, certainly no one's going to die, or appear to die right? And even if they did, surely it's only one character, right? You'll just have to watch and see! Can you believe we're almost done with this game?!?
