After their battle at Lythos Castle, Sombron makes his appearance, and we get another turn of events. Alear's group is under attack by the Corrupted, but they don't have any Emblem Rings with them. It is up to Veyle to try and help the others out, and see if she can fight through her evil personality and help out Alear and get their Emblem Rings back.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

What a turn of events that was, first Marni gets killed off, then after the battle Sombron shows up and delivers a fatal attack which seemingly kills Alear, and then Veyle's evil personality awakens, and we lose our Emblem Rings.
Then onto the next chapter, and we get a cutscene which happens in the past, where Alear turns against Sombron, and then Lumera appears, and Sombron uses an attack that puts Alear in a critical condition, which she did not awaken from until 1000 years later. Then after some dialogue between Veyle and Alear, who requests for Veyle to awaken her as a Corrupted. Veyle then destroys the helmet, and removing her evil personality completely, and restores Alear, and they help to restore the Emblem Rings, but as Alear is revived as a Corrupted, any Emblems summoned are Dark Emblems. I do like how the main theme played during that cutscene, as we haven't heard that back from when Marth was first summoned in Chapter 1.
For some reason, the text box doesn't even fit "Corrupted Alear", instead it is displayed as "Crpt. Alear", even though it managed to fit "Corrupted Hyacinth" back in Chapter 17.
Veyle then becomes our new ally, she is a Fell Child, and the second Dragon unit we have received, she comes with Obscurité, a Fell Dragon exclusive tome with a high critical hit rate, and Misericorde, a knife exclusive to Veyle and it deals magic damage. Her best stat is Magic, and her personal skill is Fell Protection, allies adjacent to her deal 1 more damage and take 3 less damage, it is kind of like Alear's personal skill, but with the effects swapped out. Alear is equipped with Marth, and you cannot use engage attacks on this map.
You have to collect all the Emblem Rings on this map, and once that is done, defeat every enemy on the map, but you do get a lot of reinforcements appearing, starting from turn 5, then turn 8, then turn 11, and then turn 13, if you collect all of the Emblem Rings, the reinforcements will not appear.
There is a set path you will want to take while fighting against the enemies, and do note that you cannot change your units, so you have to use the units that you have used in Chapter 21, that does also include Mauvier as he was used in that battle.
The first set of Emblem Rings are on the eastern part of the map, and to awaken them, Alear needs to be near them, and then have your units talk to them to equip them, and do note that if your ally already has an Emblem Ring, they cannot equip them. The first set is Lyn, Lucina, and Byleth, the second set is around the western part of the map, and there are two Emblem Rings, Micaiah and Celica, you will want a magic unit to equip them. The next set is south of the map around the western part, and the third set is Ike, Sigurd, and Eirika, and the last set is Leif, Roy, and Corrin, and they are on the southernmost part of the map. For items, a Bow Knight drops an Elixir, a Corrupted Wyrm has a Speedwing, and a Halberdier has Brionac, this is an S Rank Lance that can strike close or at range.
If I recall, this is the only time Ike, Corrin, and Eirika appear as Dark Emblems, while Eirika was taken from Lythos Castle, she was never used against us, and neither Ike or Corrin's Emblem Rings were stolen, and Leif had the worse luck out of all the Emblems, he became a Dark Emblem three times throughout the story.
Once all of the Emblem Rings are collected, and all enemies are defeated, Alear has used the last of her power, and the Emblems use a special power to awaken more of her powers. We then find out about the ring we received from Lumera back in Chapter 2, and then go through more dialogue before we get to explore the ruins of Lythos Castle, I will go more into detail about this new power that was received after the battle, but at least we got Marth back again.
