Here are the team of Pokémon in this video, which was decided by the random number generator.
P1 Team: Pinsir, Kadabra, Metapod, Horsea, Omanyte, Gyarados
CPU Team: Weedle, Omastar, Tentacool, Muk, Venomoth, Wartortle

Then, I will list the moves for each Pokémon in battle, starting with my team.
Pinsir: Strength, Harden, Seismic Toss, Guillotine
Kadabra: Psychic, Counter, Recover, Dig
Metapod: String Shot, Tackle
Horsea: Hydro Pump, Toxic, SmokeScreen, Ice Beam
Omanyte: Surf, Ice Beam, Double-Edge, Double Team
Gyarados: Surf, Dragon Rage, Bite, Fire Blast

The CPU's team of Pokémon and moves.
Weedle: String Shot, Poison Sting
Omastar: Hydro Pump, Submission, Spike Cannon, Withdraw
Tentacool: Surf, Supersonic, Mega Drain, Blizzard
Muk: Sludge, Thunderbolt, Hyper Beam, Selfdestruct
Venomoth: Psychic, Supersonic, SolarBeam, Swift
Wartortle: Surf, Strength, Rest, Ice Beam

Both sides of the battle have three Water-type Pokémon and two Bug-type Pokémon each, the CPU has four Poison-type Pokémon, two of which are Bug-type and one of them is a Water-type. I get Pinsir for the lead, and the CPU has Weedle to lead the battle, whenever these weak Bug-types are used by the CPU, they tend to be used last from what I have experienced.
The best thing a Weedle can do is lower the opponent's Speed with String Shot and use Poison Sting to try and inflict poison, I don't see it defeating any opponent, unless it is a weakened opponent, there isn't really much success it can get other than those.
Not only did I get Kadabra, one of the best Rental Pokémon in the game, but against the CPU's Poison-type Pokémon, and can do well against Omastar. I do have some backup options, Horsea can use SmokeScreen and Toxic on opponents it doesn't have the best matchup against, like the Water-types the CPU has, and Gyarados is there for Bite and Dragon Rage. The downside to using the Water-types that I have is Venomoth's SolarBeam, but at least I can switch out to a different Pokémon on the turn Venomoth uses the move, but with Bug and Water-type Pokémon on both sides, I usually try and see if I can win against the CPU with the Pokémon that I got through the random number generator, even if the CPU has some Pokémon with moves that deal super effective damage against the Pokémon that I have.
