Timing starts when I first control Gex and timing ends on the blackout of the final boss. Final time is around 2:25:47.00. RTA timing is around 2:25:52.00.

I didn’t expect a run like this to happen… This is my best speedrun of any game to date. Overall, this run was really well played but I lost a whole minute in Superhero Show because I used safe strats and things went wrong badly. Other then that, I am really happy about this run. I even got the 1 frame TV Cancel skip in Holy Moses that saves a minute, so that makes up for the minute lost in Superhero Show.

I might be all done with this category for good. But I may return if a lot of new skips are found. What a grind this was too. The Rainbow TV Cancel Skip in Mythology Network keeps on destroying really good runs all the time but I’m very happy that this run is the end result. Here are my splits for this run.

I have a history of 32 total PBs in this category throughout the years so I made this pastebin list just for fun. Started from November 25th, 2011 to May 11th, 2016.

Here are my thoughts on each main level:

Holiday Broadcasting: Great start, collecting the 2nd remote was kind of slow though.

Mystery TV: To avoid Gex being knocked back when the hunters hit him for the death abuse, I turned him sideways. This level went really well besides me going up for air in the bubbles minigame.

Army Channel: Could be the easiest level in the whole game. The only really tough part to optimize is shooting the lights down fast in the maze area.

Holy Moses: Could be better. The camel OOB setup that I used in this run is highly consistent compared to other methods that I tried. So glad that I got the 1 frame trick in this run though.

Western Station: So after that dumb time lost in the Secret TV level, this level was played with great execution. Optimizing the chickens is the worst part of this level but I’m glad that the chickens didn’t troll me.

Buccaneer Program: I nearly fell to the other side when going up at the start of the level from the beginning of the second entry. I would of lost 18 or so seconds if that happened.

Mythology Network: Nailed this level but I could potentially save 1 minute and 30 seconds if I would have gone for the 1 Cycle Mythology Network but that involves risking your whole run on a 1 frame TV Cancel Skip which is grind heavy. The TV Cancels in this level literally makes Mythology Network a living nightmare for me. Glad I got the Rainbow TV Cancel Skip fast though after it ended many of my runs.

FairyTales TV: Mistakes here and there. At least I didn’t fall off at some point.

Anime Channel: Decent gameplay, played it safe by getting more green flies on the 100 coinfly remote.

Superhero Show: Really painful to watch how this level went with such a great 100% run. First I decided to do safe strats because I was on a really good pace so that wasted 20 seconds then I kept on failing and choking on parts of this level. It’s a shame how bad this level went.

Gangster TV: Glad I ended the run strong with this level.

End: To order to PB again, I most likely going to have to rely on getting the 1 frame trick in Holy Moses or the 1 frame trick in Mythology Network. This category is brutal enough without those. Farming over and over again just to get a good enough run with a 1 frame trick is where I draw the line in this category. I’m satisfied with how low my time has gotten though after years of routing and playing this.

I didn't use the following strat in this run because I never got around to practice with it enough to make me feel comfortable to use them in a run. This is worth checking out if you plan to do runs of this category though.
