Third and final part of this boss.

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK6543qSYU4

The content of this video may appear very confusing if you don't know what I'm trying to achieve. But that's what descriptions are for, right?

In the first 22 minutes of the battle, three out of four parts of Valmar's Tongue were destroyed, leaving only the last, strongest part. Moreover, the tongue itself was injured so heavily that a few attacks would end the battle.

What complicated a simple situation arising from a battle with a tricky, luck-reliant beginning (hoping the Shhh! spell mutes as many parts as possible and that all parts don't decide to act as aggressively as possible and the AI fails it) is that only one person must survive a low level battle in this game, gaining all the experience. Millenia isn't with us for a large portion of the game, so she is picked as the survivor here.

When the boss approaches critical HP, we wait until everybody but Millenia is dead.

AND THIS IS WHERE THE ANNOYANCE BEGINS

It doesn't take too long to see Ryudo and Roan die. They don't have much HP in the first place.

But when Mareg and Millenia are standing, things get really messy. First of all, the Freeze spells the boss's been casting reduce our movement stats to -5. This has a terrible effect on our movement: character simply run on the same spot in circle. This is very bad, because character placement plays a big role in what character the foe decides to hit (or so I've noticed).

Mareg can't move, Millenia can't either. What's worse is that the tongue attacks Millenia now, completely ignoring Mareg who is standing just below him, helpless and unable to move anywhere.

Why I was worried here is Millenia's special passive ability. When she's hit for some number of times, she goes berserk. You lose control of her.

If she did that before Mareg died, we'd fail ending the battle with one player.

And guess what, she does go berserk in this video, giving a somewhat epic ending to an otherwise frustrating, tedious last third of this long battle (though I imagine some may get a kick out of watching my characters run around in circles helplessly).
