Gremlins 2 The New Batch (Nes) Playthrough / When allergies can cause the collapse of civilization.
Gremlins 2 The New Batch (1990) by Sunsoft is is a surprisingly good game licensed from the once great movie called "Goblins." It is an action platform game that uses an unusual perspective for the genre. The top-down perspective is a really strange choice for a platform game where precision and timing of jumps is important...... but it succeeded masterfully surprisingly. In the game, we play the role of Gizmo a small creature that begins to replicate uncontrollably after contact with water. It's just that these replicants are simply evil by nature, and pose a threat to practically the entire world if the planet's surface consists of 70% water. And it only took practically one drop of water to cause chaos in one building . The game is surprisingly good and noteworthy as always is the soundtrack created by the masters of 8bit rhythms. I have to admit that Sunsoft made the best soundtracks for the system and this is undeniable. The whole gameplay is based on going from point a to b, collecting points after the adventure, thanks to which we can do shopping in stores scattered around the levels. In the stores you can buy a life balloon (this is to save you from losing one of your lives after a fall) and, of course, upgrade your currently used weapon. In the game there are 5 types of weapons, which we get mainly after fighting bosses, most of them can be upgraded once to, for example, shoot three or more projectiles in a row in different directions. It is worth mentioning that in the middle of the game a lot of emphasis is placed on platform elements. So you have to be prepared to jump wildly over platforms and avoid traps. Which may seem like a huge challenge at first glance, but thanks to the highly responsive controls, it's definitely achievable and even easy after interacting with the game for a while. Overall, I recommend it because next to Batman, it is definitely one of the best games using the movie license on the Nes.
