Broken Mirror (2024) by Qudgar Games is a point and click adventure in which we wake up with amnesia in a strange dark house, and our only goal is to find out who and what we are here for. The game, as the author himself indicates, is a remake (demake) of a game once made by him and his group of friends in 2009. It was originally a game of the "Interactive Fiction" genre, where interaction with the world happens through typing appropriate commands. Despite the graphical degradation in comparison with the original, the game is more accessible and readable thanks to the new system. Those who have ever had to deal with text-based games probably know what a torment they can be ..... therefore praise the author for his willingness to convert the entire game to a completely different medium. But did he succeed ? Of course he did. The game looks and sounds really decent by C64 standards, although it may not be the "top shelf", but it gets the job done. The whole story is presented through notes , which we find along the way. Thanks to this approach the whole story is served to us in a subtle way, making the game intriguing until the very end.And the most important thing in a role-playing game is to maintain the right pace.Which has been achieved here. The game is really easy for a point and click title, and no one who can read with comprehension will have a problem completing it. I regret a little because I won't be able to play it on a real C64, because I don't have the NTSC version, which this game requires. It's a bit of a shame, but well, you can't have everything. Highly recommended.
