Well, I may not have gotten as far as I wanted to this time... but at least I managed to find everything in the first world. The Sunday streams are usually a little more troubling, simply because having work the next day means I'm way more likely to cut things short, if only to avoid ending on what feels like a cliffhanger. I like finishing off my livestreams with a clean break. Maybe that's weird... but frankly, I don't care.
Keeping what happened with the Aztec world in mind when starting the Viking Era allowed me to change up my strategy a little. On the one hand, it probably ended up costing me a little progress. But honestly, avoiding backtracking and aimlessly searching for the last one or two gears in the main hubworld is going to be a big morale boost next time. Seriously, I spent like half an hour trying to 100% the Golden City... and the one collectible I was missing turned out to be the tutorial for the new move that unlocked at the start. And I couldn't even see it due to the wonky transparency effects.
I think Time Busters' mini-games are going to end up being my undoing in this 100% run game. Sure, so far, I've been knocking them out on my first try. But the second I end up failing one, I'm sure I'm not going to take it well. KI seemed more concerned about the shield race, but it wasn't really that bad. Moon Valley, on the other hand, was one of those areas where I just ended up getting lost. The mini-boss fight was also kind of a pain.
Oh, and I've also apparently been using my controller with the glitchy inputs all year. See, I used a special gimmicked controller for my final stream of last year... and when I switched back, I accidentally grabbed the wrong one -- the one that made Yooka-Laylee 10% harder. I managed to switch back right after my stream, so I won't have to worry about any stray inputs moving forward. That being said, I really don't think it's going to help my issues with Time Busters' controls in any meaningful way. But we'll just have to see.
